The Elusive Orgasm Facts

A large percentage of women find it difficult to experience high levels of arousal and orgasm:

• An American survey found that in the 12 months prior to the study being carried out, nearly one-third (31.6%) of the women investigated had never, rarely or only sometimes felt an orgasm.
• More than two-thirds (71.4%) of women in the survey did not always orgasm during sex with a partner.
• A recent Australian study found that nearly one-third (28.6%) of women investigated were unable to orgasm for a month or more in the previous 12 months.
• There are many causes for women not being able to orgasm – one study found that women in poor health were nearly twice as likely to have orgasm difficulties as women in excellent health (36.7% compared to 20.2%).
